San Diego, USA: Fleet Science Centre

The Fleet Science Centre features the Space Theater – a hybrid planetarium and cinema housing the first OMNIMAX/IMAX Dome system. Opened in 1973, the museum is known as the first to combine interactive science displays with planetarium and IMAX screenings, providing a model for the design of contemporary science museums. Voyage to the Outer Planets (Colin Cantwell, and Lester Novros), the first film screened at the Space Theater, was unique for integrating a planetarium show and OMNIMAX footage.
