The Golden Snail IMAX cinema was opened in 1984 and is located at the theme park Taman Mini Indonesia Indah in Jakarta. It was the first IMAX cinema in Indonesia and remained the only IMAX cinema until the 2010s. The snail shape of the theatre was inspired by an East Javanese legend about a princess who gets turned into a golden snail.
