CINEMAexpo67 is a research and research-creation project supported by SSHRC-funded Insight Grants, Canada and the Films of Expo 67 (2007–2012) and Archiving Future Cinemas: Revisiting the Filmscreens of Expo 67 (2013–2019) as well as financial support from Concordia and York Universities.  The books, Reimagining Cinema: Films at Expo 67 (2015, McGill UP) and In Search of Expo 67/A la recherche d’Expo 67 (2021, McGill UP) and the exhibitions, La Vie polaire/Polar Life CINEMAexpo67: (the recreation) at the Cinémathèque Québecoise in 2014 (in partnership with CQ and National Film Board of Canada) and In Search of Expo 67/À la recherche d’Expo 67 at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal in 2017 are key outcomes of our research. The project supported the restoration and screening of numerous films from Expo 67 in partnership with the Cinémathèque québécoise including Polar Life, Earth is Man’s Home, Motion, Man and Colour, The Eighth Day, and continues to explore connections in the development of IMAX in 1970.
